Centara Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to expand its Middle East portfolio with the opening of a new hotel in Oman next year.

The Centara Muscat Hotel will mark the hotel group’s debut in Oman and is scheduled to open on 1st June, 2015. The hotel will be owned by Irfan International Hotel Limited Liability Company and managed by Thailand’s largest hotel operator, Centara Hotels & Resorts.

“The Middle East region is a strategic one for us, and we are delighted to be announcing the opening of Centara Muscat Hotel,”said Thirayuth Chirathivat, the Chief Executive Officer of Centara Hotels & Resorts.

“Oman becomes our tenth overseas destination, and we deeply appreciate the trust that international investors are placing in our unique Thai style of hotel management.”

The hotel in Muscat will be aimed at both business and leisure travellers and will have 154 guest rooms and suites, two restaurants and bars, a swimming pool, a fitness centre, a spa and extensive meeting and event facilities. The hotel group will open another property in the Middle East after it announced its plans earlier this year to open a hotel in Qatar.

There are also Centara hotels and resorts about to open or under development in countries including Vietnam, Indonesia, China, Laos, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, and Ethiopia. The shores off the coast of Muscat offer excellent conditions for scuba diving holidays and the crystal clear waters are blending with colourful soft and hard corals and hundreds of vivid marine creatures, from seahorses and Oman clownfish, to loggerhead turtles, dolphins, sharks and humpback whales, just exceptionally spectacular!
