Just because the winter is approaching doesn’t mean we can’t have fun. The world is full interesting, bucket-list-worthy events all year round. Music lovers listen up:

1 . Iceland Airwaves – Reykjavik, Iceland

Since the first edition was held in an airplane hangar in 1999, Iceland Airwaves has become one of the premier annual showcases for new music around the world. Held between October 30 and November 3 in the capital city of Iceland, the event was once mentioned in the Rolling Stones magazine as “The hippest long weekend on the annual music-festival calendar”. This year the line-up includes: 1860, Kraftwerk, In the Company of Men, Low Roar, Metz, Midlake, On An On and many more. Photo courtesy of © 2013 One Iceland

2. Amsterdam Dance Event – Amsterdam, Netherlands Also known as ADE for short, the Amsterdam Dance Event is one of the biggest international club festivals in the world. Spread over a 5-day period in 75 clubs and various venues around the city, this year’s event takes place between 16 to 20 October. Attended by over 200,000 visitors each year, the festival features the biggest DJs and artist names on the planet, as well as a selection of upcoming talent – making Amsterdam one of the most inspiring clubbing cities in October. 3. Electric Picnic – Stradbally, Ireland

“It’s usually a young congregation and this year’s line-up will exasperate matters, meaning welly-booted rock chicks and their skinny-jeaned admirers will likely dominate. There are tents for both comedy and spoken word gigs, theatre and circus performances and loads, loads more.” – ( Timeout )
