The Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem has opened its doors marking the brand’s continuing expansion in iconic landmark destinations across the world.

Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem features 226 luxuriously appointed guest rooms and suites spread over ten floors, all of which offer unparalleled comfort and the finest amenities, with many overlooking the spectacular city and park. Guests are offered an enviable selection of dining choices which include a French brasserie and a gourmet Italian restaurant. Expected to open in 2015, two indoor lap pools, two gyms and two wet and dry saunas will be among an abundance of recreational facilities available at Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem.

Additionally, a boutique spa will offer guests the opportunity to relax and unwind with an array of treatment offerings. John Vanderslice, global head, luxury brands, Hilton Worldwide, said: “An immensely fitting homage to this world-class heritage destination, the opening of Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem is a prestigious moment in the celebrated history of Waldorf Astoria. “I am excited that we are now welcoming our first guests with True Waldorf Service at this historic and inspirational Jerusalem address.”

Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem is located on the site of the former Palace Hotel, previously one of Jerusalem’s most renowned properties, which last checked-in guests in 1935. Ideally located within walking distance of the walls of the Old City and the famous Jaffa Gate, Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem is the only internationally-branded luxury hotel in the city.

The hotel adjoins Jerusalem’s upscale shopping centre, Mamilla, and overlooks Independence Park, offering visitors the ideal base from which to explore the sights of the city. Simon Vincent, area president, Europe, Middle East & Africa for Hilton Worldwide, said: “Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem is a wonderful addition to our luxury portfolio in the region and marks a new chapter of our company’s history in Israel, almost 50 years since we opened our first Hilton hotel in Tel Aviv.

“I am delighted that we are bringing the luxury of the Waldorf Astoria brand to Jerusalem, supporting Israel’s strong visitor offering as it continues to enhance its status as one of the world’s most exciting destinations.” Destined to become a preferred choice for event planners, Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem is the city’s first choice setting for meetings, events and grand celebrations.

Key features include nine state-of-the-art meeting rooms and an 800-person capacity pillar-free ballroom. Ideal for any number of special occasions, the hotel is the perfect setting for business meetings, glamorous banquets and unforgettable social occasions.
