The carefully curated collection for the Creating a Stage: The Collection of Marsha and Robin Williams will be unveiled by Sotheby’s, and the public can view these at their Los Angeles galleries from 11-15 September and in their New York galleries from 29 September to 3 October.

A dedicated auction will be held on 4 October in New York, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit organisations such as Human Rights Watch, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Wounded Warrior Project, Challenged Athletes Foundation and the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation. The sale’s proceeds will also aid in establishing a Robin Williams Scholarship Fund at the Juilliard School in New York.

The collection will include highlights of both Marsha and Robin’s careers in film and television, such as Robin’s Golden Globe Awards for Mork and Mindy, The Fisher King, Mrs. Doubtfire and Good Morning Vietnam and the battery-powered t-shirt Robin wore to perform Blame Canada from South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut at the 2000 Academy Awards.
