Stepping into this expansive and fresh open space leaves you in awe when eyes are laid upon the Pietra di Fiume’ design of the iconic Medusa, Greek décor prevalent throughout, fabrics and furnishings from the House of Versace, lagoon pools, reflection ponds and serene verdant gardens that enclose the hotel.
The second property from the distinguished brand – the first is on Australia’s Gold Coast – showcases 16th century palatial grounds apt for those looking to soak up rays in the lavish Cultural Village setting, and it’s only a few minutes away from the iconic Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall and nearby attractions.

Cool down at any of the three outdoor pools shaded by palm trees, gaze at unhindered views of the Dubai Creek and
relax back with a cocktail as you indulge in a stay steeped in Italian design. The neutral-coloured rooms are flooded with natural sunlight, comprising plush beds that beckon, silk furnishings, a bathtub to unwind back at and unsurprisingly Versace toiletries adding the finishing touch. Donatella Versace, sister of the late founder Gianni, is the artistic brain behind the hotel’s décor, putting a signature

mark on every aspect of the interiors. Travellers can choose from the Deluxe and Premiere rooms and five elegant suites: Executive, Grand Executive, Grand, Signature and Imperial, all of which are in a class of its own.

Post shopping haul at the mall or a tour of old Dubai, head back to the hotel to rejuvenate your mind, body and senses with a treatment at V Spa. The menu comprises massages, facials and body treatments and a visit to the sauna, steam room or Jacuzzi is a must to complete your spa experience. Fitness enthusiasts can make use of the fully equipped gym or jog around the premises while breathing in fresh air in the gorgeous surroundings.

When the hunger pangs kick in, sate your appetite with a truly Italian romantic meal at the hotel’s signature restaurant Vanitas. Diners can relish gourmet offerings such as creamy burrata, succulent slow-cooked lamb with miniature pumpkin gnocchi, Canadian lobster pasta, and the decadent citrus and basil crescent to end the meal on a sweet note. Fresh herbs from the hotel’s garden and only the finest of imported produce are used to create an exquisite meal with the shimmering Dubai Creek waters as the backdrop.

For a light lunch, make your way to Mosaico or visit La Vita for innovative concoctions, boutique wines by the glass and crafted beers with a warm ambience. A selection of Moroccan, Turkish and Lebanese mezze, or shisha, can be sampled in a relaxed snug spot on the terrace at Gazebo, facing one of the hotel’s pool. Those on a diet or the healthy eating bandwagon need not worry about gaining a few pounds while indulging as Amalfi offers rustic Mediterranean fare, nutritious salads and guilt-free crisp Italian pizzas by the waterside.

Friday brunch is a typical Dubai institution and you can’t leave the city without experiencing one. Lucky for you, brunch is served at Giardino, the commodious eatery boasting lush greenery with walls and pillars that anyone who has an affinity for patterns will surely capture for their photo diary. Live-cooking stations are dotted around the venue and diners can pick local market ingredients to be cooked to their liking, while savouring cuisines including Arabic, Chinese, Indian and Italian, to name a few. The brunch mood livens up with tunes from the DJ.

The crème de la crème of this hotel however is Enigma. The latest gastronomic restaurant, adding to Dubai’s bustling culinary scene, is one-of-a-kind for this market showcasing a dining concept that alternates four times a year. The menu? It’s a heavenly surprise. World-renowned celebrity chefs such as Bjorn Frantzen and Quique Dacosta were previously at the helm of the kitchen curating stunning masterpieces that blew up the social sphere. Don’t forget to book well in advance to avoid dismay.

Perhaps what makes this spot one of the finest in Dubai is its central location, interiors that exude an Italian charm and endless culinary options to suit all tastebuds. Its accommodation variety is also an advantage for those who require ample space for their children.
