Aromatic French flavours meet traditional English ingredients at Hyde Park Corner in London. The newly renovated Lanesborough, a masterpiece hotel of the Oetker Collection opened recently, giving foodies much to rejoice. The new restaurant Céleste, which in French means “heavenly” lives up to its name by creating a culinary aura that relies on the tried and tested skills of renowned Michelin starred chefs. Giving cuisine a refreshing twist, the signature dishes blend traditional French ‘savoir faire’ with authentic British organic produce. Heritage tomatoes with tomato sorbet, Home County lamb with courgette couscous and homemade harissa vie for attention with the choicest set of tempting desserts that include handcrafted sugar strawberry, ‘mara des bois’ Chantilly and sorbet, fig baked in sugar crust served with almond ice cream and Guanaja chocolate with roasted coffee beans ice cream.

The renovated interiors compliment the fine cuisine with English crystal chandeliers and mouldings that are classic in their appeal and silhouette. The awe inspiring dome with a conservatory roof allows daylight to flood in creating the perfect atmosphere for a lunch that is naturally lit, leading into a refined ambience as the day progresses creating the most perfect luxurious dinner experience. The restaurant has over a hundred covers and includes a private dining room that serves breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Clearly, the 18-month renovation has achieved what it set out to, making sure that the redesign stands out with phenomenal decorative detailing, that is more reminiscent of a painstakingly preserved historical house or palace than a modern contemporary hotel.
