Sure, there are museums to visit, monuments to take photos of and national parks to walk around, but let’s face it – what really matters is what you eat – transporting you to a delicious and unforgettable experience to write home about.

Chef Simone Cantafio – asparagus, salmon & cumino

Luckily, Asia is the epicentre of memorable culinary delights – a place where street eats are taken to new heights and fine-dining takes on new meaning with innovation at the forefront. Of course, there are classic foodie cities like Paris, London and New York but when it comes to the food-centric destinations, Asia is the place to explore and consume.

Classically, as a self-professed foodie, sightseeing takes a backseat when travelling around Asia. Rather, I’m always on the lookout for truly authentic eats – a place where eateries offer more than just a satisfying meal but a cultural glimpse into the traditions and cultures of the city it represents.

Whether I am travelling to a city for the umpteenth time or heading to a new exciting metropolis for the first time, I always ask trusted foodies to guide me in the right gastronomic. Although Michelin-starred chefs and coveted world’s best chefs spend hours in the kitchen, these chefs still have time to roam the city, getting inspiration from their peers in an effort to maintain the competitive edge which makes them the best. Rather than keeping all these new discoveries to myself, I’ve collated a few of my favourite chefs and asked them to tell me where they, trusted gourmets, like to eat, drink and indulge in Asia’s leading cities.
