Accor Hotels has finally answered our prayers with Free Wi-Fi, an amenity that considering our times seems as a bare minimum. Free wi-fi will now be on offer in all ibis budget, ibis, ibis Styles, Novotel, Mercure, Pullman and MGallery hotels in the UK, incorporating all bedrooms and public areas. Breaking travel news reported that a total of 194 Accor hotels across the UK & Ireland will offer guests free Wi-Fi. Not only are most Accor hotels offering Wi-Fi service, but some with be provided with fiber optic Wi-Fi to ensure premium internet service. In this competitive industry, Accor hotels has listened to customers’ needs and wants providing exemplary customer service.

With the rapid emergence of tablets and smart phones, the demand for free Wi-Fi in hotels has long been battled. d: “Free Wi-Fi has become the norm at many coffee houses or bars but in the past with hotel groups it can vary from property to property, and differ between the public areas to bedrooms. “We recognize that guests expect to have free wi-fi wherever they are in the hotel and for it to be a quick, high quality connection.”

A problem that has been surging in the hotel industry has stemmed from loss of revenue from pay-per-view costs as well as long distance calls. Hotels have since been using Wi-Fi fees as a way to make up for the lost revenue streams. However, many guests do complain that free Wi-Fi is not included leaving many unsatisfied. Accor will show whether the satisfied customers rake in profits or if it’s just another lost stream of revenue.
