House to 100,000 ancient artefacts including King Tutankhamun’s mummy, the Grand Egyptian Museum is under construction.

The Museum was supposed to open in the year of 2012 but has been held back and scheduled to get inaugurated by fall of 2015. The Grand Egyptian Museum is envisioned as the hub of a network of related museums scattered throughout the world. Construction is now underway on the final part of the museum, as the country’s tourism industry struggles to recover from a drop in visitors following political unrest.The Grand Egyptian Museum will allow Egypt to become a major worldwide hub for Pharonic history and a must-visit place for Egyptologists. Nested between the ancient Great Pyramids and the modern city of Cairo, at the junction between dry desert and the fertile floodplain, the Grand Museum is a portal to the past.

With its unique position on the cusp between the past and the present, the Grand Egyptian Museum will lie at the repository for ancient artifacts that creates an interactive experience for the visitor.
