The luxury hospitality group Aman Resorts will launch Sama – their first luxury yacht. Inspired by Aman’s eastern heritage and design philosophy, the all-suite Sama will cruise the seas of Arabia, offering guests an up-close and personal experience of some of the world’s most underrated coastlines. From luxurious accommodation and amenities to unrivalled service and unforgettable excursions ashore, this is one holiday you’ll never forget.

Aman’s Luxury Yacht in Arabia – Sama

The launch of Sama in 2025 results from a joint venture between Aman and Cruise Saudi, the driver of the cruise sector in Saudi Arabia. This new luxury yacht will allow travellers to explore the waters of Saudi Arabia in luxury and comfort. The word ‘Sama’ translates to ‘tranquillity’ in Sanskrit, a water abode that Aman plans to create in the Arabian Sea.

A first of its kind motor yacht for Aman, this vessel is planned to be 183 m (600ft) and will feature 50 luxury suites, all with their own balconies. The yacht will embody the elements of privacy, space and impeccable service that Aman has come to represent.

The yacht will have an informal all-day restaurant, international dining options, a club and lounge, the essential Aman Spa with a Japanese garden, two helipads and a Beach Club. For all practical purposes, this luxury yacht will be similar to a boutique hotel at sea.

Commented Fawaz Farooqui, MD, Cruise Saudi, ‘The signing of this partnership adds a new layer to Cruise Saudi’s offering and is testament to the unique tourism experience that is exploring Saudi by sea, as well as demonstrating Cruise Saudi’s commitment to growing and expanding the cruise industry in Saudi. We aspire to further collaboration with Aman that will bring additional ultra-luxury experiences at sea.’

Aman’s Luxurious Yachts

Beyond hotels, Aman has been operating Amandira, its custom-built 52-meter two-masted Phinisi, a traditional Indonesian sailing vessel, in the Flores Sea since 2015, exploring the Raja Ampat region of the archipelago. The sail and motor powered phinisi is equipped with five cabins, a crew of 14, including a private chef, waiter and massage therapist.

Aman had previously operated Amanikan (now Mahodaya) – a 32 meter, three cabin traditional yacht in Indonesia, designed to accommodate six guests and ten crew, including a cruise director, chef and dive guide. Built in 2009 with a draft of 2.1meter and a cruise speed of 8 knots, Amanikan was a perfect yacht to get up close and explore the bays and coves of the Indonesian Archipelago.
