You once remarked that “…our ship is luxury. It’s like walking into a Gucci purse…” what does that experience mean to you?

Genting Dream is such a rich, textured and beautiful experience. The atmosphere makes you feel elegant, relaxed and attractive. The quality, craftsmanship and thoughtful design invested in the details of our ships are remarkable.

Can you speak about the out-of-this-world dream concept behind Dream Cruises, represented by the mermaid and the astronaut motif?

We have woven the mermaid motif around a story inspired by the dramatic “Voyage of a Lover’s Dream” hull artwork, painted by the Chinese pop artist Jackie Tsai, on our first ship, Genting Dream. The colourful artwork featured an emotive love story between a mermaid and an astronaut (who co-exist in inner space––the ocean, and outer space––the galaxy). The story conveys the “inspirational” nature of Genting Dream’s onboard experiences that promise to bring dream vacations to life. The story also creates a romantic fantasy that attracts the imagination of our audience and inspires guests to break free from the familiar and to reach for their dreams––whether they are dreams of extraordinary vacations, unforgettable discoveries or something more. With Dream Cruises’ newest ship, World Dream, we are introducing a new chapter to the mermaid and astronaut fantasy with another beautiful visual narrative by Jackie Tsai, entitled “A Tale of Two Dreams.”

What do you see as an exciting, new trend in luxury cruise travel and what are your plans to exceed expectations in this area?

Travellers in the luxury space are no longer solely drawn on luxurious offerings alone but are looking for unique experiences all together––we have learned this from our sister brand Crystal Cruises. Our ability to offer inspirational luxury, which is Asian at heart and international in spirit will remain a key differentiator that will continue to set us apart from our competitors.

What is the most luxurious dining experience offered on Genting Dream?

Internationally-acclaimed Australian chef Mark Best, who is among a distinguished few to achieve 19/20 in the Good Food Guide published by the Sydney Morning Herald, brings culinary artistry to the table for discerning diners of Genting Dream with his very first restaurant at sea –– “Bistro by Mark Best”.

However, the most luxurious dining experience offered on board our Dream ships would have to be our new vintage room concept that was inspired by Crystal Cruises––a private dining room concept for up to 12 guests where there is a chef’s table reserved in advance. Vintage Room winemakers’ dinners have been long regarded as one of the most memorable and enriching culinary experiences onboard Crystal Cruises, intriguing the savviest of connoisseurs.
