Singita Pamushana Lodge has re-opened this month after a major design overhaul. The lodge now boasts vibrant new interiors and two new two-bedroom suites that allow guests to have an insight into the local Shangaan culture and its surroundings.

The designs were inspired by its location atop a hill, which lead designer Geordie de Sousa Costa from Cecile & Boyd says brings to mind “the idea of a royal household holding fort over this beautiful land that stretches to the horizons beyond.” The result is a strong use of texture, from geometric patterns, carved furniture, raw silks, polished stone, all in the colour palette of green, black, white, brass and tobacco tan, which perfectly complement the mix of original African artefacts.

You’ll see these in the main lodge, which has been extended and improved with a new entrance, perfectly manicured gardens and walkways that have been made from sustainable materials. The central area now boasts a variety of multi-level decked platforms for guests to relax outdoors. For the very best views of the entire expanse of the Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve, we recommend heading to the cliff-top fire pit and bar, to enjoy the surrounds while dining alfresco.
