From May through September frolic with gentle migrating whale sharks – the largest fish on the planet – in their watery turf. You can safely swim alongside them as they feed on bountiful plankton. Xel-Há, an open sea aquarium, archaeological site and eco-tourism-marine park, beckons with ancient ceremonial centres and lagoons teeming with colourful sea creatures where you can snorkel in a safe environment.
