[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]One of Europe’s oldest luxury hoteliers has opened its doors in Singapore’s historic Capitol Piazza, and while its accoutrements are unmistakably European – the hotel’s interiors are draped with decadent Art Deco furnishings and lustrous Italian marble floors – the heart of the new Kempinski Singapore remains true to its roots. Through years of meticulous restoration, the colonial-style facade of the new Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore blends in seamlessly with Singapore’s downtown Civic district: parts of the building’s original Chengal wood flooring were even used in the new hotel.
The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore occupies what was once Stamford House and Capitol Building, alluding to its stately past, but there’s none of the aloofness or pretence at the Kempinski that other hotels might tend toward. Each of its 157 rooms and suites are draped in dark woods and lush, amber lights and high, airy ceilings that welcoming weary travellers back home in its plush lodgings. The wavy cornice patterns in each room were also inspired by the scales of Singapore’s iconic Merlion statue.
Neighbouring buildings include the iconic Capitol Theatre – which played host to the red carpet premiere of Crazy Rich Asians back in September – and upscale shopping and dining destination Capitol Piazza.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

But we think that the wait was worth it – because it would seem that the Kempinski Singapore is sure to become a historic, inextricable part of Singapore’s streets. ◼
