Holding the record of highest continent of the planet earth and being the coldest, windiest and driest and not to forget that it receives more solar radiation than is received at the Equator in an equivalent period, Antarctica is yet one of the most desired destinations for explorers.

It has a total land area of 14 million sq km and average elevations between 2,000 and 4,000 meters and mountain ranges up to nearly 5,000 meters. The extreme remote wilderness region of Antarctica was established as a continent and not just a group of islands in 1840. This ‘White Continent’ was once uniquely the domain of scientific expeditions and explorers, who often faced incredible hardships to reveal its secrets. It is a larger continent that Australia and the subcontinent of Europe.

If we were to describe the scenery of Antarctica in a single word, “breathtaking” is what comes to our mind. From the huge tabular bergs as big as an island to it smalls white bergy bits, from the perfect mosaic resembling aquamarine life to the penguins, there is everything unique and spectacular about Antarctica.

Visitors get attracted to Antarctica Peninsula because of its moderate climate and abundance of beautiful wildlife. The wildlife of Antarctica is what everyone desires to witness, millions of penguins, petrels, albatrosses, and other sea birds breed here, the vivid five species of seal are regularly observed hauled out on ice floes, orcas, humpback and minke whales are often seen feeding on the ocean’s rich pickings.
