Emirates, the Dubai-based airline known for connecting the world, is set to expand its footprint in South America with the launch of its services to Bogotá, Colombia, starting on 3 June. This new addition marks Emirates’ fourth gateway in the continent, joining the ranks of existing routes to São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Buenos Aires, and solidifying its presence in the region.
The daily services will bridge Dubai with Bogotá’s El Dorado International Airport, Colombia’s bustling capital, via Miami. However, passengers should note the requirement of a United States visa for this leg of the journey. This move by Emirates opens up new vistas for travellers from the Middle East and Southeast Asia, offering them a gateway to explore South America’s northern region with much more ease.
For leisure travellers, it’s an invitation to explore the rich history, vibrant culture, and breathtaking landscapes of Colombia and its neighbours. The new route promises faster access to neighbouring countries such as Panama and Ecuador and introduces travellers to the unique high-altitude charm of Bogotá.
