Poster girl of the generation and the President’s muse in never-seen-before intimate photos
Marilyn Monroe cuts a stunning figure, and there’s no denying that her mien is one of Hollywood’s most recognisable. A new series of candid photographs of the starlet is now on show at the British fine art photography gallery, Galerie Prints.
From now until March 30th, 2019, Galerie Prints will host A Week With Marilyn, showcasing a gorgeous selection of never-before-seen photographs of Marilyn Monroe herself.
Photographer Ed Feingersh spent a week with the iconic actress in March 1955, accompanying her as she went about her day-to-day life: from glamorous dress-fittings to a particularly iconic shot of the starlet on the New York Subway, each of the photos are lovingly rendered in intimate black-and-white detail, emphasising how close Feingersh was to Monroe during that week.
All the photos on display are also available for purchase, with prices starting from £300.
Galerie Prints is also home to a myriad of other excellent photography exhibitions. Located at Wimbledon Park – just across the street from the emblematic Wimbledon Park and tennis courts – the gallery can be reached from the city centre via the London Underground in just half an hour. ◼
