Movenpick Hotel Essen, Germeny commits sustainability with its second Green Globe Certification. Over the past few years, the hotel has demonstrated efforts and new innovations in operational, social and corporate responsibilities. “Sustainability is a very crucial topic these days. By main significant contribution, we can set an example for the fellow beings. The excellent results encourages us to improve the responsible initiatives and practises towards sustaining our environment.” Says Verena Bredol, The human resources manager, responsible for coordinating all the sustainability activities of Movenpick Hotels & Resorts.
Movenpick Hotel Essen is located in the heritage building “Handelshof”, in the heart of Ruhr, he city centre of Essen. The hotels marks a historic opening in 1912and was managed by the parents of a prominent actor of Germany- Heinz Ruehman. The hotel is counted as a national monument.
Movenpick Hotel claims to execute all its operations in environmental-friendly actions. The entire hotel is endowed with energy saving electrical appliances and devices. Local ‘Hannover AG’ provides 100% green electricity to the property. In order to save more energy, the hotel has been refurbished with new air-conditioning system.
Along with its other CSR programs, Movenpick Hotel Essen works with many community development partners and charitable organizations.
