Bali’s famed Katamama boutique hotel is set to reopen as Potato Head Suites on 28 June 2022. The rebranded hotel, located in the heart of Seminyak’s sustainable beachfront creative village ‘Desa Potato Head’, will feature 58 suites, with easy access to Petitenget Beach. Apart from these suites, there are 168 rooms available within the Potato Head Studios.

Bali is famous for its craftsman culture, and the hotel is a testament to that. The walls are made of temple bricks handmade in a Balinese village. The furniture is all bespoke Jengki teak, made by young Indonesian designers in the mid-century modern style, the textiles are all hand-woven & naturally dyed and the handicrafts are all locally made. This hotel is a sanctuary for craftsmanship and artistry in every sense. Thanks to a fusion of ancient tradition with modern aesthetics, this hotel is a truly unique place to stay.

The suites include the Katamama Suite with 320 sqm of space covering two bedrooms, a private rooftop garden with Jacuzzi and ocean views. The Rooftop Suite includes 268 sqm of space covering a bedroom and a private rooftop garden overlooking the Indian Ocean.

The spacious suites have access to the Beach Club and daybeds, gym and spa, plus in-room breakfast at no extra charge. Akademi is the hotel’s award-winning bar, pouring curated craft cocktails and offering a personalised experience for each suite’s in-room bar, a choice between wellness reset or party recharge.

The cuisine at Potato Head Seminyak is based on a simple principle: work with local farmers to grow food organically, and source ingredients responsibly from around Indonesia. This philosophy is evident in every dish on the menu, from the breakfast staples to the more sophisticated fare served for lunch and dinner. The Tanaman is a multi-sensory restaurant for the future where diners are invited on a cosmic plant-fueled trip through provocative plates and spirited drinks. Try out the Chef’s Table menu inspired by one of the five elements: air, fire, earth, water, and space, and draws only from a bounty of plants—along with a wild selection of mushrooms.
