In 2013, Abu Dhabi’s hotels set records for guest arrivals, guest nights, length-of-stay, and revenues, welcoming 2.8 million total guests, an increase of 18 percent over 2012 figures, according to the Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi).
“The UAE hosts one of the world’s fastest-growing tourism sectors, driven by Abu Dhabi hosting more international events and readying to open prominent cultural institutions,” said Oliver Key, General Manager, The St. Regis Abu Dhabi. “By opening the Abu Dhabi Suite, suspended 200 meters above the ground, and the Nation Riviera Beach Club, one of the region’s premier leisure destinations, we’re dedicated to redefining luxury tourism to meet the requests of Abu Dhabi’s cultured international guests.”
Nearly two-thirds of Abu Dhabi’s guests in 2013 arrived from overseas, according to TCA Abu Dhabi. In 2014, Abu Dhabi’s guests have been led by India, United Kingdom, and United States, with strong numbers from Germany, China, Russia, Italy, and Kuwait. “Drawing on our enduring legacy and Arabian hospitality, we seek to surpass our sophisticated international guests’ expectations in splendor and service, and contribute to Abu Dhabi reaching its goal of 3.1 million hotel guests in 2014,” added Key.
Guests of The St. Regis Abu Dhabi receive the signature St. Regis butler service, and can dine in the hotel’s destinations including Rhodes 44, with contemporary British cuisine by celebrity chef Gary Rhodes, and Villa Toscana, with hand-crafted Italian specialties and designed like an Italian noble’s home.
