Istanbul’s new mega airport

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Turkish Airlines will make Istanbul’s newest airport it’s new home by 6th April 2019, after successfully completing a massive move from Ataturk Airport.

Touted as one of the biggest airports in the world at 76.5 million square meters, Istanbul New Airport will serve as a major hub connecting Asia, Europe and the Middle-East. Travellers can look forward to sprawling duty-free shops as well as a sleek, 37-kilometre rail line built specially for the airport’s passengers and staff.

The facility, which nearly 100 airlines will operate out of, is expected to serve over 90 million passengers annually. The airport’s Turkish influences are evident everywhere in its design: from its sweeping dome shape to the intricate details on its tiles, the airport’s design draws from some of Turkey’s most distinctive landmarks.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The country’s national carrier will begin operating international flights from the new airport in 2019, while other airlines will gradually shift their operations from Ataturk Airport to the brand new facility. igairport.coms ◼
