With Shangri-La Hotel slated to open in Colombo this November, there is another reason for luxury travellers heading to Sri Lanka to cheer. An exceptional launch that stands out in the island nation’s recent history, this second Shangri-La property reflects the travel industry’s vote of confidence in the revival of the country’s tourism.

The hotel offers uninterrupted views of the wild Indian Ocean in virtually every one of its 500 guest rooms, suites and 41 serviced apartments. Spread over 10 acres, the city will soon welcome an office tower, two residential buildings and a luxury shopping mall with the hotel taking luxury to the next level in thriving Colombo where hospitality seamlessly combines with Sri-Lankan charm.

To peak interests, an introductory offer by Shangri-La called “Discover Colombo” includes the Sunset Heritage City Walk which explores the colonial charm of historic Colombo including a tuk-tuk street shopping safari for hidden gems and local dining.

The hotel’s five restaurants would quickly ensure that it builds itself as the hub in the city’s social and dining scene for some time to come. Bars and lounges offer an extensive selection including innovative menus international cuisine, al fresco dining and live entertainment. An ocean-view swimming pool and bar overlooking Galle Face Green are icing on the cake.
