The bungalow, now the premises of Tamarind Hill, was originally built in 1881 and was later gifted to the government. The building, which is now occupied by Villa Samadhi, served as the British Army’s artillery garrison, after it was completed in the 1920s.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

CEO FredericoAsaro sourced the roof tiles from similar black-and-white buildings that were going to be torn down, while the floor planks were restored with salvaged wood from old village (or kampung) houses, giving them a new lease of love and life.

The hotel has 20 rooms that have been designed to complement the colonial architecture, of which several have sweeping walkways and views of towering Banyan trees. Of the four room types, the most luxurious is Luxe Sarang, spanning 56 sqm and set far away from the hotel so guests can enjoy added privacy. The suite is equipped with an outdoor whirlpool, a private garden and a sprawling living space.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
