Remember the Nokia N-Gage, the Harley Davidson Perfume, and the Apple Newton? These and other product flops take the spotlight at The Museum of Failure in Los Angeles where the most interesting (and hilarious) failed consumer product innovations and services are showcased.

Psychologist and innovation researcher Samuel West spearheaded the project, which has a permanent museum in Sweden, to show that failures are big and significant steps in reaching a truly ingenious product. West curated all the items with difficulty as most of them are no longer in the market. Through eBay, and generous donations, the Museum of Failure was able to assemble a 51-piece collection of product blunders and faux pas.

Several items on display include the sexist Bic For Her pens, Google Glass, a Monopoly imitation game called “Trump” by, you guessed it, Donald Trump, the Olestra chips from the 90s, Beef Lasagna by Colgate, and the coffee-flavoured Coca-Cola Blak.

The exhibit is on display at the A+D Architecture and Design Museum in Los Angeles until 4 February 2018.
