In the realm of fine spirits, the name LOUIS XIII has long been synonymous with unrivalled excellence. This esteemed cognac house proudly reveals their latest masterpiece, the Rare Cask 42.1, a decade after the release of the exquisite Rare Cask 42.6. This sublime offering, an extraordinary rendition of LOUIS XIII Cognac, is available in a limited series of just over 775 exclusive black crystal decanters.

A Treasure of Domaine de Grollet : A Singular Expression of LOUIS XIII Cognac

The cellars of Domaine de Grollet, where LOUIS XIII’s magnificent legacy converges, house an unparalleled collection of tierçons filled with eaux-de-vie from the esteemed Cognac Grande Champagne terroir. These tierçons, crafted from French oak trees that require over a century to mature, are believed to bestow their unique spirits upon the eaux-de-vie they cradle.

In a remarkable display of serendipity, one exceptional tierçon revealed an unparalleled aromatic profile, culminating in a distinct expression of LOUIS XIII Cognac never seen before. This enigmatic creation boasts an unanticipated 42.1% ABV, a testament to the delicate interplay between the ancient oak and the eaux-de-vie. Baptiste Loiseau, LOUIS XIII’s fifth-generation Cellar Master, meticulously nurtures the evolution of Rare Cask 42.1, favouring intuition and emotion over science in its development.
