Firenze, the Italian name for Florence is a place to experience magic and subliminal beauty. Here, the more you explore, the grander does the city look. Once you overcome a natural sense of wonder, as to how a tiny place can pack in such a powerful punch, soak in the sights at the Uffizi and Accademia Galleries housing Michelangelo. Next, head to the Leonardo da Vinci Museum and other nearby landmarks such as Ponte Vecchio, Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore (Duomo) with Brunelleschi’s magnificent cupola, Giotto’s Bell Tower which has a fine view of the city from its top and Baptistery of St. John with its beautiful bronze doors, including the gold Gates of Heaven.

Elevate your visit to Florence by picking a luxury property like Portrait Firenze which is owned by none other than the luxury fashion house Salvatore Ferragamo or Four Seasons Firenze where you can enjoy the luxury of a Florentine estate, complete with outdoor pool, full service spa, and choice in dining venues.

After all the walking around in Florence’s cobblestone streets, head to a local wine bar, Le Volpi e L’Uva and choose from the dozens of Italian and foreign vintages on offer. Accompany it with a delicious hot crostone, or open face toasted sandwich topped with Asiago cheese, prosciutto and honey. The best time to visit Florence is between May and September when warm weather ushers in art festivals, open-air dining and a golden Italian sunshine.
