Singapore shines at the very heart of travel as the historic crossroads of trade between the East and West. This October, the country hosts one of the largest events focused on bringing the world together to deliver a variety of world-wide travel experiences to the Asian market.

Reflecting the growing appetite for luxury travel in the region, Asia’s leading travel trade show ITB Asia 2017 began celebrating its 10th anniversary by selling out months in advance. The Sands Expo and Convention Centre is ground-zero for this ground-breaking event.

Brazil’s Rio Convention and Visitor Bureau, the Moscow City Government, Promote Iceland, as well as an African Pavilion are among this year’s first-time attendees. In addition, countries making their debut this year include Tunisia and Rwanda as African markets have seen higher attendance at the show this year.

The tide is turning in luxury travel from major Western countries to a focus on emerging markets with an increased population and growth of the middle class, perhaps the world’s largest travel market at the moment.

With a focus on the future of travel, technology gets on board in a big way. Facebook examines travel trends in the “mobile First World,” contributing to the conversation around effective travel technology residing at the crossroads of personalization and precision. Next generation incentive travel is another featured session at the trade show along with the most current versions of technological solutions designed to make it easier to connect with travel opportunities in Asia.

Exhibitors run the gamut in a wealth of different industries including a company who turns waste heat into energy savings with combined power and utilities solutions including heating, cooling, and desalination. Also participating this year is a Borneo Adventure Company offering Kuching excursions and the romance of the White Rajahs, a Chinese curator of luxury retail experiences, and a tour company based in Utah, USA that pledges to take you to the “world’s greatest outdoor museums” of Monument Valley and Canyonlands National Park.

From business to pleasure and everywhere in between, Singapore rolls out the red carpet for the world’s tour companies from Finland’s Fijords to Silicon Valley. ITB Asia 2017 will be delving deeper into travel trends, globetrotting dreams and day trip destinations. Beyond MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) to team-building adventure, to theme-based travel, this show is slated to be the go-to in the world of travel for years to come.

Organised by Messe Berlin (Singapore) Pte Ltd and supported by the Singapore Exhibition & Convention Bureau, ITB Asia 2017 will take place at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands, from 25 – 27 October. In additional to the above the usual suspects will be attending including luxury hotels and resorts, theme parks and attractions, inbound tour operators, cruise lines and major spa chains.
